My First So Faded Sweater

I made my first So Faded sweater back in July 2017 and totally fell in love with the pattern. It's written by Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits and is so easy to follow.

This was the first ever sweater I had knit as I was always a bit nervous that I would find patterns too complicated or that I'd completely get my gauge wrong and end up with something the wrong size! So Faded proved me wrong, it's such an easy pattern to follow that I've actually made myself a few since the first one!

For this sweater I used four different hand dyed yarns to create the fade. The first two yarns used for the shoulders and chest are both Coastal Colours UK Merino Nylon Sparkle in sockweight which I picked up at Woolfest. I finished the fade using Fleabubs & Lala Merino/Nylon in sock weight and some pink/purple scrap sock yarn I had in my stash for the bottom rib. I still had quite a bit of each yarn leftover so they've become part of my scrappy blanket.

If you fancy giving this pattern a try I'd recommend checking out the Ravelry Projects page for it here for inspiration! There's so many endless colour combinations, you're sure to see something to inspire you.
